NYC VOLATILE QUICK MOVING PATTERN AHEAD
Good morning everyone. We have stubborn clouds and drizzle in the New York City area, leftover from rain which arrived early and left early. After this little speed bump, we have a special weekend ahead weather-wise; then the many ups and downs that October is in NYC.
EASTERN SATELLITE
Clouds stick around for a while as the last of the remaining showers heading off of the Forks of Long Island. Look for partial clearing late with highs in the low to mid 60’s. Any time we get thick cloud cover this time of year, it will hold temps down as the angle of the sun is starting to become relevant when blocked.
REGIONAL RADAR
We have a simply amazing weekend ahead, with sunny skies, low humidity, and low to mid 70’s each day throughout most of the area. Get out and enjoy it. It doesn’t get anymore simple than that.
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
Comfortable weather continues for Monday, with low humidity and low to mid 70’s; then we gradually warm up into the 75-80 range Tuesday and Wednesday. We’ll hold off on Thursday to make the final call, but we could squeeze out one more 75-80 degree day before cooler air works in temporarily.
LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA

On or just after Thursday, the pattern becomes more volatile and begins to really speed up. It’s possible we could have a seasonal Friday, then a Jekyll and Hyde weekend; with a warm next Saturday possible ahead of a vigorous cold front, then an unseasonably cool next Sunday. Everything hangs on Hurricane Rosa and what she does or doesn’t do to the jet stream.
Stay tuned and enjoy this weekend as we hash out what to expect down the road.
