SCATTERED NYC SHOWERS TODAY SPRING BEGINS SUNDAY
SCATTERED NYC SHOWERS TODAY SPRING BEGINS SUNDAY – Good morning everyone. After a very brief clear morning where many got to see the sunrise, clouds have rolled back with the backlash of yesterday’s low departing the area. Clouds, scattered showers, and breezy conditions will be with us for most of the day, highs 50-55. Tomorrow, the sun comes out, but the breeze continues as the low slowly pulls away from the NYC area, highs again 50-55.
On Sunday, we finally start to get a taste of spring. A large, slow moving ridge will drift across the eastern half of the United States, pumping in warm air, dry conditions, and sunny skies. Highs on Sunday will be 65-70, slightly cooler at the coast. Monday and Tuesday will both be sunny, with highs 70-80, coolest at the coast, with Tuesday being a touch more humid than Monday. Overnight Tuesday, a front will begin to transit the area, cooling things off back into the 60’s Wednesday with a chance of a few showers.
In the long range, we’re looking cooler, but more seasonably mild compared to the beginning of April. While systems are still moving into the west coast, they starting to slow down a bit. We’re not talking the summer crawl during the “Dog Days” of August, but we are looking at a little bit more space between systems and more sunny days than rainy ones. Warm air tries to return between the 16-19th and we’ll see how far north it gets.

Departing low pressure throws clouds and scattered showers back into our area. After everything departs, spring begins and we should have some dry and warm weather until Wednesday.
