SEASONABLY NORMAL BREEZY NYC MONDAY SUMMERY WEEK AHEAD

SEASONABLY NORMAL BREEZY NYC MONDAY SUMMERY WEEK AHEAD – Good morning everyone! I hope everyone enjoyed their Mother’s Day and more sunshine than previously expected before afternoon gusty showers moved in. All of that energy is now to our east, but the difference in pressure between the departing low and high pressure, will create a windy day for us. Cloids will be with us this morning, maybe a shower or two, then some sun and clouds this afternoon. Temps will be almost spot on normal in the mid 60’s today.

Winds calm down after sunset and will become light out of the northwest. These light winds will help gives us a dry, sunny, and warm day tomorrow, with highs in the upper 70’s to near 80 in most of the area, even along the immediate coast. On Wednesday, winds switch around to the southwest, helping pump warm air into the area. Highs Wednesday will be in the mid to upper 80’s, but it’ll be slightly cooler at the shore, as well as a couple of spots in the notoriously warmer areas that could creep a little higher. For Thursday, it’ll be hot for this time of year, plain and simple. Sunny skies continue, southwest winds continue, but heat and humidity increase as highs make an attempt at the 90 degree mark, especially in Manhattan, Newark, and parts of Brooklyn and Queens. We’ll have cooler temps along the shore, but even there we could see temps near or slightly above 80.

Friday will be less humid as winds switch back to the west. That being said, mid 80’s are still on the menu, with mid to upper 70’s to near 80 along the coast. Sun and mild temps continue for the weekend with cooler air working in, temps slightly above normal in the low to mid 70’s.

For the long range, warm air will try and pump back in, but we have to wait and see if it wins out and how long. Looking at the pattern, it looks as if for now that Memorial Day Weekend looks much cooler than what we’re about to experience, but the heat looks to win out again in a big way after as we exit May and enter the first week of June. Just as we’re doing now, we will continue to fine tune each day since this time of year can still be tricky.
