Severe Storm Watches Posted Upstate
Good afternoon everyone. Severe storm watches have been posted in upstate New York and other parts the interior Northeast, but the marine layer is strong at the immediate coast and may impact what reaches here or not. After today’s system passes through, we have a sunny and comfortable warm weekend before humidity returns on Monday. We continue to watch the long range, and very warm/hot conditions don’t return till Thursday and Friday for a short showing.
SATELLITE
Cloudy skies are here and temps hovering in the mid 70’s might not go much warmer. Look for highs near 80 at best, and we’ll be watching that line of showers and storms develop upstate. Again, it’s questionable if anything make it down here other than a few gusty remnant showers, but we’ll watch that radar closely to see if the storms can break through the marine layer.
WEATHER RADAR
Tomorrow and Sunday are looking perfect for early August. We’ll have sunshine with relatively low to moderate humidity, and highs in the 80’s each day.
Monday starts off sunny, then we’ll have increasing clouds late. We’ll have highs again in the mid 80’s, and the chance of some showers and storms overnight. Anything leftover on Tuesday should give way to sunshine with low to mid 80’s as highs.
Wednesday is looking average with sunshine and mid 80’s then upper 80’s are possible on Thursday for a dog-day summer feel. Our next big front approaches Friday/Saturday, but we’ll have to watch the timing on that one. At minimum, Friday starts off very warm to hot with highs in the upper 80’s to near 90 and the chance of PM storms.
