STRONG STORMS DEPART AREA WARM THURSDAY POSSIBLE
Good morning everyone. Some gusty showers and storms came through the New York City area early this morning, but they’re on their way out to pave the way for a nice next few days. Meanwhile, we could have a seasonably warm day on Thursday while the atmosphere resets itself for an active period system-wise.
EASTERN SATELLITE
As I type, showers and storms are quickly exiting the area and are near the Forks of Long Island, but clouds will be stubborn for a while as we still have some energy left to our west.
REGIONAL RADAR
We’ll have to wait and see if the next round of of showers can stay together as a compact, yet vigorous low pressure moves through. This created the lift I was looking for yesterday when discussing the potential for some rumbles of thunder before sunrise.
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
Look for partial clearing as our day goes on, a stiff WSW breeze, and highs 50-55. Overnight, we clear this out pretty well, clearing the way for a sunny and seasonably cool day tomorrow. Expect bright sunshine and highs 50-55 again. For Halloween on Wednesday, we begin to warm things up as our next system approaches. We should squeeze out on more nice and sunny day, but winds will pick up as the day goes on. It’ll be a gorgeous and comfortable 60-65 for most areas, but slightly cooler at the shore as a seabreeze develops off of the ocean. For Thursday, clouds begin to roll in, but we’ll get that extra sunshine I was looking for to propel us a touch higher temp-wise. Look for increasing clouds and highs 65-70.
LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA

On Friday, showers trudge in ahead of our strong but elongated cold front; with most of the energy going well to our north and west. However, it should be enough to provide us with a wet day as on and off showers will be with us for the entire time; highs 60-65.
As of now, it looks as if stubborn clouds and showers stick around to begin Saturday, then we’ll have partial clearing as the day wears on. Sunday is looking as the best day of the weekend, and it should be breezy and seasonably cool; low to mid 50’s.
Contrary to other outlets and social media talk, our first part of November is NOT looking warm. Our system path has changed as our pattern modifies, but that’ll only provide us with one or two normal to “warm” days here and there before settling back to below normal after each system passes. The fact that these systems will only able to “boost” us back to normal or slightly above normal, shows how much cool air has invaded the continental US.
