WARM DRY WINDY NEW YORK CITY DAY EXPECTED – Good sunny morning everyone. The heat is here on schedule and we have a beautiful morning unfolding across the entire area. For those who suffer, get those allergy meds in you early today, because the flowers and tree buds will be popping fast to catch up.

Expect bright sunshine today with light, variable winds becoming southwesterly and gusty by the afternoon. Because we don’t have a prolonged fetch of southwest winds, it won’t have a chance to get too humid out there, so look for a comfortable but warm day today with highs in the mid to upper 80’s away from the shore, and low to mid 70’s near shore.

Tomorrow, look for a repeat, but with more clouds in the afternoon. Also, we’ll notch up those temps a touch higher, with temps near 90 possible in those notoriously warmer spots. Upper 80’s will be possible elsewhere, and of course cooler at the shore with 70’s. The slight chance of a thunderstorm will also be around for the afternoon, so look for those isolated thunderheads building in the distance.

80’s return again for Friday (cooler at the shore) and we’ll have the continuing slight chance of widely scattered showers/thunderstorms as our cold front slips by. We enter the weekend with clouds and sun for Saturday, “cooler” and breezy, highs in the mid 70’s.

For Sunday, we return to more normal temps with highs in the mid to upper 60’s. However, I continue to keep an eye on some leftover moisture in the form of a weak wave along the old cold front. It’s possible we could see some showers on Sunday, but the best idea on that scenario will be more towards Friday.

In the long range, above normal temps continue to want to return. We will have several chances for 70’s and 80’s, but also have to keep an eye on back-door fronts sagging in from the northeast.
