WEAK FRONT BRINGS RAIN CHANCE FRIDAY NIGHT SATURDAY – Good morning everyone. Today is another beautiful day in the mid 80’s and relatively low humidity compared to what August could be. Skies will remain sunny for most of the day, but a few clouds could sneak in later as we watch the approach of another system.
Tomorrow, we’ll have clouds and sun, mid 80’s again, although we bump up the humidity due to this approaching system. As with most of the summer, the majority of the energy will go to our north and the front will be rather weak. This will give us the slight chance of some showers and storms tomorrow night and into Saturday. Temps will be in the low 80’s Saturday and clouds will hang over the area for much of the day.
We clear things out on Sunday and the sun should return for a beautiful 2nd half of the weekend. Mid 80’s will return, but we drop again on Monday with the approach of another wave.
These slight ups and downs look to continue for a while, wavering between slightly below normal, to normal, to slightly above normal temperature-wise. However, that glimmer of hope I was talking about yesterday for those who love a warm summer, just got a little brighter in my opinion. Heat will build back into the Midwest in the long range and looking at the jet stream setup, we have at least a 50% chance of seeing an above normal stretch of temps for the 2nd third of August. We’ll keep a close eye on this possibility as any unforeseen tropical system or stalled out front can dash that idea.
